Fund Raising/Donations

Why Give?

Your donation will make a difference. More than 25 percent of BVRS’ operating budget comes from contributions. BVRS accepts unrestricted gifts to the general fund as well as gifts that are specifically designated to any of our programs and services. Please look here to learn more about different methods of giving including corporate opportunities, United Way Donor Choice, matching gifts, bequests, charitable trusts and in-kind donations.

Memorial Contributions

Any gift may be designated as a memorial or honorary gift. When making a gift in memory of someone who has passed away please include the name of the person and the family contact name and address. We will contact the family to share with them your thoughtfulness. Memorial donations totaling $250 or more receive special recognition on BVRS’ Memorial Wall. This lovely display of inscribed bronze leaves is prominently located in the lobby of the Homestead facility.

United Way Donor Choice

BVRS is a United Way member agency. To support BVRS through the Allegheny County United Way Donor Choice plan, select designation number 885171. Be sure to check the box on the form that will allow United Way to release your name so we can thank you for your contribution.

Matching Gifts

Ask if your employer has a matching gifts program. Retirees are often included. Your gift can double or triple with a matching donation from your employer and is very much appreciated!

Vehicle Donation Program

We accept used cars, boats, RVs and other vehicles that can be sold at auction. Call us and have the title available and we will arrange to have your vehicle picked up and towed away. Tax deductions are based on the sale price.

BVRS is a 501©3 nonprofit organization registered with the Pennsylvania Department of State Bureau of Charitable Organizations. To receive a copy of the official registration and financial information please call 800-732-0999 within Pennsylvania or visit www.dos.state.pa.us.
